The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) commends the organisers of this unique and exciting Pan in Education project, one that will nurture the wonderful traditions associated with our national musical instrument amongst a new generation.

In addition to preserving and further disseminating the culture of pan, we believe that Pan in Education has the potential to stimulate the development of pan manufacturing.

Step-by-step, with very little help, and driven by creativity and their love of the instrument, a few brave and hardy souls have developed the fledgling pan manufacturing industry in Trinidad and Tobago. The best pans are made in Trinidad and Tobago, and the true pan connoisseur is well aware of that fact.

So, today, the market for this amazing instrument is no longer restricted to Trinidad and Tobago’s shores. Export markets for the pan are found all over the world, from the Caribbean, to Japan and everywhere in between.

A new generation of pannists will benefit from this project. And that, in turn, will ensure that pan manufacture survives and flourishes long into the future.
