"Pan for the People".the official launch of Panorama
2002
"Trinidad is my land and of it I am proud and glad", but are we really? The steel pan is our national musical instrument, but still, year after year we experience difficulty in amplifying a large band on a Panorama stage. Many of us have now opted to 'go to pan' for the lime.our excuse for settling for mediocre reproduction of our pride and joy.
Sanch Electronix, d Idea Shop, TNT Projects and Pan Trinbago believe that it is time we revolutionize the sound of pan. On Sunday January 13th, 2002, the public will be treated to an open-air concert "Pan for the People...the official launch of Panorama Season 2002" at The Princes' Building grounds from 1 - 6 p.m. This event will be an experience to remember, as many Panorama classics as played by our top steel orchestras will be amplified over the world-renowned Meyer Sound system. This system is touted to be the best suited for the reproduction of our pan music, both at venues such as the Savannah, at fetes and most importantly on the streets during the Carnival season.
It is hoped that through this event, the relevant decision makers in the Carnival/Pan fraternity and Corporate sector see the benefits that can be derived by investing in such a system to ensure that our music is taken to higher heights.
Many fun-filled activities such as bouncy castles, painted faces are being planned so that it can be a "Sunday afternoon out" for the family. Lots of drinks, eats, CD's, T-shirts and other memoirs will be on sale.
The musical repertoire which the public would be treated to includes, Curry Tabanca as played by T&T All Stars, Pan By Storm - Fonclaire, Birthday Party - Phase II, Pan In 'A' Minor-Renegades, Pan Woman- Exodus, Panama - Harmonites and much more. This is an experience that should not be missed and one that will change the way we listen to pan.forever.
