Sanch Electronix Ltd is pleased to announce the Launch of ‘Pete the Panstick’ (PETE) Interactive Educational Software, in conjunction with Republic Bank. This Event will be hosted at the new Digicel IMAX Cinema, One Woodbrook Place, Port of Spain on Tuesday 24th April, 2012, from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Also being featured will be the latest iteration of the Percussive Harmonic Instrument (P.H.I.), an ensemble of which will be used to provide interludes of background music at the venue on the morning.

This sophisticated self-instructional animated software has the potential to impact positively on the Visual and Performing Arts curriculum in the areas of Music Literacy, Technical English, ICT and Social Studies. PETE will also be marketed through Community Centres, Educational Institutions and Online from a Cyber-platform. More content will be added systematically to extend PETE’S outreach from Trinidad and Tobago through the Caribbean Diaspora and eventually into the international marketplace.

The software has been formally endorsed by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, through the Ministry of Education, The University of Trinidad and Tobago, and The Caribbean Examinations Council. Technical support for developmental work, animation and marketing has been provided by The Trinidad and Tobago Film Company, the Centre for Development of Enterprise, Republic Bank and Caribbean Export.

Recently, Managing Director Simeon L. Sandiford had the distinct pleasure of presenting PETE at the Organisation of American States (OAS) Conference entitled Virtual Educa Caribbean which was held in Suriname from Wednesday 29th February to Friday 02 March. As a result, Sandiford has been invited to host a Webinar on the OAS Network to educational institutions throughout Latin and South America in early May, (date to be finalised.)

PETE the Panstick has been generating interest within the region. It is a unique vehicle for combining innovation, creativity and indigenous rhythms to create an ICT-derived educational  product for sustainable economic development. PETE also has the potential to exploit avenues for universal cross-cultural dialogue and information exchange in all of the aforementioned curriculum areas.
